In Colorado, the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) oversees title insurance, which includes rate filings. Here's what you need to know about Colorado DORA and title insurance rates:
✅ Title insurance companies are required to submit any new or amended rate filings electronically to the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings (SERFF) database.
✅ These filings must be submitted to the Division of Insurance at least 30 days before the new rates take effect.
✅ Each filing must include justification to support the proposed rates, which can include data like expense provisions, claims data, taxes, and personnel costs.
